The Arabian Desert
There are about fifteen large deserts in the world: Gobi, Turkestan, Thar, Australian, Kalahari, Sahara, to name some,
but their is nothing like the Arabian. I am walking up a dune in Saudi Arabia. I look back at my solitary footprints.
As lifeless as the desert seems, I have seen snakes and kangroo rats and skinny-feral dogs in this forbidden stretch of sand.
This reveals something about the resiliency and diversity of life on our planet. I say this because a desert, at first glance,
looks as though no life could survive there.
